Master of Divinity and
Master of Theological Studies

We are pleased that you are interested in pursuing a seminary education at Baylor University's Truett Seminary. In order for us to accurately process your application materials, carefully read the instructions below. Please note that the responsibility for our timely receipt of the application materials, transcripts, and other necessary information rests upon you.

For the Master of Divinity degree, a bachelor's degree is preferred for admission to the seminary. This degree is to be from an accredited institution in the United States, or submit proof of equivalent training at a foreign university. Although several factors constitute the total profile for admission (GPA, application materials, and/or interviews), as a general rule a minimum grade point average of 2.7 overall and 3.0 in the major is required. For entrance into the Master of Divinity (MDiv) program, only undergraduate grades or post baccalaureate (not graduate) grades are calculated to provide the GPA. See the Master of Theological Studies (MTS) program section for details concerning that degree program. Final approval for admission to the MDiv and MTS programs is given by the dean of the seminary.
