Location:
Capital of a region renowned throughout the world, Lower-Normandy, at the heart of a district of 250,000 inhabitants, city of William the Conqueror, Caen lies only a few kilometers from the English Channel, a destination awaiting your discovery. Its geographical position, between land and sea, less than two hours from Paris and facing the South Coast of England, makes Caen a city ready to meet with these challenges. Both a commerical port and pleasure marina, it is a port of call ready for adventure and new projects. With its exceptional historical heritage, Caen is the ideal place to enjoy a tourist or cultural break. William's Castle, the Men's Abbey and the Ladies' Abbey figure among the jewels of Norman architecture. The Memorial for Peace, the Normandy and Fine Arts Museums and the city theater all contribute to Caen's international reputation.
The Baylor University/Caen University (Caen, Lower Normandy) student and faculty exchange program is entering its tenth year of existence. It is an opportunity for Baylor students to spend a semester or year abroad studying either the French language or taking Business courses in English (or combining both pursuits), allowing students to live in one of the most culturally rich cities in France.
