[STUDENT ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR]

Engineers with Mission

The Student Organization of the Year award is determined through an organizational commitment to their purpose, partnership within the Baylor and Waco communities, as well as a demonstrated effort of service acts and programs. This year, Engineers with a Mission was honored as Student Organization of the Year due to their ongoing activity in each of these areas. Engineers with a Mission exists to educate and motivate engineers students regarding the use of culturally and economically appropriate technologies to assist the globally poor in the name of Christ.

In 2012-2013, Engineers with a Mission tutored at the Rapoport School, constructed a windmill at the World Hunger Relief Farm, built a poverty simulation during Justice Week, and worked with Texas Instruments to develop a solar battery charging system. They will also be heading to Haiti over the summer break to implement some solar energy solutions and share the love of Christ.

Congratulations to the members of Engineers with a Mission on your hard work and accomplishments this year!

[OUTSTANDING NEW ORGANIZATION]

Baylor University Student Chapter of the Society of Toxicology & Environmental Chemistry

The Baylor University Student Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) is an organization to encourage dialogue, cooperation, and collaboration between students and faculty who share environmental interests. In Summer 2012, Baylor hosted the South Regional SETAC's annual meeting. Many of the BU SETAC members presented their own scientific work. On a national level, the organization also received a grant to fund local projects in the Waco community.

Congratulations to the Baylor University Student Chapter of SETAC for their outstanding work in the short time they have been chartered!
