Accolades go to Kimberly Hightower from the School of Education!

Kimberly, a 1999 graduate from the undergraduate Generic Special Education program, has recently received much applause from Waco Independent School District. During the 2005- 2006 school year she was awarded these honors and titles: G.W. Carver¹s nominee for Outstanding Teacher of the Year, a Finalist for WISD¹s district Secondary Teacher of the Year, and WISD Secondary Teacher of the Year. In the same year she was also named Most Outstanding School Coordinator for Partners in Education.

In addition to her service as a special education teacher, Kimberly participates in the community as coordinator of the single adult ministry at Harris Creek Baptist Church. Her service to Baylor includes instructing our special education teaching candidates through her roles as a Mentor and Clinical Instructor for the past four years. Baylor can be proud of the acclaim she brings to our program by her distinguished accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.
