University for Young People is a summer enrichment program for rising first graders through rising twelfth graders. Younger students meet at an elementary school to study an interdisciplinary theme such as Discoveries where students problem solve how to live in space. Younger students may also choose a program called Perspectives with the centerpiece as the outdoor learning environment.
Older students attend classes on the Baylor campus from the sciences, social sciences, fine arts, and technology. The following dates and programs are planned for the summer of 2013. Session I: June 10-14, 2013
Session II: June 17-21, 2013
Session III: June 24-28
Class times:
9:45-11:15
1:15-2:45
Cost: $55-$65 per class plus $20 registration fee
All-day UYP option-$200 per session: Includes 2 UYP courses, registration fee, lunch, and recreation.
UYP's Creative Problem Solving Camp for rising first graders through rising fourth graders:
Dates: June 10-14, 2013
Time: 8:30am to 2:00pm Bring a sack lunch.
Location: Hillcrest Professional Development School
Cost: $170 ($150 + $20 registration fee)
UYP Perspectives Program for rising first graders through rising fourth graders:
Dates: June 24-28, 2013
Time: 8:30 to 2:00pm Bring a sack lunch.
Location: Woodway Elementary School.
Cost: $170 ($150 + $20 registration fee)
Note: New applications have a one time $15 application fee.
IMPORTANT: If you have been accepted to UYP, there is no need to complete another application. If you have been accepted to UYP, but have not attended within the past two years, please call our office to be sure you are on our mailing list. Otherwise, registration information will be mailed about the middle of May.
