Agency Mission/Services:
The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System's (CTVHCS) mission is to fulfill President Lincoln's promise - "To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan" - by serving and honoring the men and women who are America's veterans and to provide veterans the world-class benefits and services they have earned - to do so by adhering to the highest standards of compassion, commitment, excellence, professionalism, integrity, accountability, and stewardship. CTVHCS provides extensive medical/surgical and mental/psychiatric health care services to veterans and their families throughout Central Texas. Services include inpatient, outpatient, and residential care offering for acute, chronic, and rehabilitative needs. CTVHCS has a large medical center in Temple and Waco; two large outpatient clinics in Austin, four community based outpatient clnics in Central Texas, and a clinic at Ft Hood.

Opportunities:
MSW Concentration: CTVHCS has a number of potential field placement options and Field Instructors in Austin, Temple, Ft Hood, and Waco facilities in each of the clinical service areas indentified above. CTVHCS also offers administrative internships at the Temple VAMC. CTVHCS attempts to match students with their facility site and practice area of interest.

Desired Qualifications:
Interns must be MSW-level students. CTVHCS Social Work Service accepts first-year and final field placement students.

Agency Hours:
8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday

Training Required:
Orientation will be held at the start of the student's internship
