Welcome to the Baylor University Department of Risk Management webpage. We support Baylor's Vision 2012 by offering a wide variety of services to all students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors of Baylor University including programs in all areas of safety, asset protection, compliance and insurance.

Due to Baylor's continued growth and the adoption of Baylor's long-term vision, "Baylor 2012," the Office of General Counsel along with the Vice President of Finance and Administration collaborated on the establishment of a formal risk management department.
In October of 2002, Warren A. Ricks was appointed the first Director of Risk Management at Baylor University. Before joining Baylor, Warren worked as Director of Risk Management for Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Twenty six years in the insurance and risk management industry has helped prepare him for the opportunity to lead the risk management professionals in the Department of Risk Management at Baylor.
In recognition of significant additional duties related to the expanding scope of Baylor's enterprise-wide risk management initiatives, effective November 1, 2007, Mr. Ricks was promoted to Assistant Vice President and Chief Risk Management Officer.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Texas State University. Warren and his wife Linda have two sons, Matt, a Baylor student and Grayson, who attends Lorena High School and will be attending Baylor soon. The Ricks' live in Lorena where he serves as a firefighter for the Lorena Volunteer Fire Department and also serves as a deacon at First Baptist Church. His hobbies include golfing and motorcycle racing.
