Internet2 Discovery Grant Program
Internet2 is a consortium of more than 200 universities and corporations that work together to deploy advanced networks and networking applications. Internet2 provides Baylor with leading edge network capability to the national research community, enabling revolutionary Internet applications and ensuring the rapid transfer of network services and applications. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research has funds available to help faculty utilize the capabilities of Internet2.

All full-time faculty members at Baylor University may apply. Proposals should increase the visibility of Internet2 on campus; provide support to projects that will enhance awareness of the capabilities Internet2 provides to the campus; and increase the number of faculty that are using Internet2 for research, collaboration and teaching.

All proposals must comply with standard Baylor policies. Additionally, if computer hardware is requested, explicit justification for the hardware must include why current computer facilities are inadequate. If research equipment is requested, three bids must be included as well as estimates for the continuing costs to operate and maintain the equipment and how these costs are to be covered. New faculty members should include information on the use of their start-up funds and why the request could not be accommodated under those funds. All proposals must include an nontechnical abstract that is free from jargon.

Please fill out the attached application and return it to the Office of the Vice Provost for Research at One Bear Place #97310.
