The mission of the Office of Sponsored Programs is to foster the development of Baylor University as a distinguished teaching and research university in the Christian tradition. The Office of Sponsored Programs provides research administration support to serve the faculty and to enhance education, research, and other scholarly activities.
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) supports Baylor University faculty in the acquisition, performance and administration of projects and programs funded from sources outside the University. The OSP is the central point of coordination for sponsored projects and the University's representative for grants, contracts and other agreements from government agencies and private industry. The staff of OSP is committed to helping faculty seek and obtain external funding, submit proposals, administer awards, and comply with all applicable University and sponsor policies. OSP oversees the implementation of and compliance with sponsored project policies as required by federal mandate as a requisite for conducting sponsored projects. The OSP offers assistance in interpreting applicable federal regulations and other sponsors' terms and conditions as they apply to the performance and management of sponsored projects. The OSP also conducts frequent workshops on preparing grant proposals and searching for project funding, with additional training options being planned for the future.
