About Technology Commercialization

The Office of the Assistant Vice Provost for Research, Technology Commercialization and Industry Engagement assists Baylor University faculty members from all academic units in identifying, obtaining, and managing the funding needed to support their research and scholarship. The most visible rewards of this research are the host of publications, presentations, and graduate theses, which communicate these research findings to scientific colleagues throughout the world and provide the basis for educating students. Such broad dissemination of research results is unquestionably the primary goal of Baylor University's research activities.

The Office of the Assistant Vice Provost for Research, Technology Commercialization and Industry Engagement will freely assist Baylor University faculty in assessing and evaluating intellectual property that results from research activities. Whenever you find yourself questioning whether an invention is patentable or not, it is best to treat the invention as potentially patentable and to contact the Office of the Assistant Vice Provost for Research, Technology Commercialization and Industry Engagement for an authoritative determination.
