Required Courses for Undergraduates


Below are the requirements for the Major and Minor in Religion, as well as the Minor in Recreational Ministry. The courses listed below include the basic requirements for all undergraduates (REL 1310 and 1350).*

Minor in Recreation Ministry

  1. Three to four hours from REL 2480 or 3381.
  2. Six hours of "3000-4000" level Religion courses in two of the three following areas:
    • Biblical.
    • Historical.
    • Theological
  3. Six hours: RLS 4395 and 3302.
  4. Three hours from: RLS 2388, 2389, 3301, 3382, 4301, 4391, 4393, or 4396.
  5. A grade of "C" or better is required in each course applied to this minor.
REL 3339, 3340, 3348, 3396, 4348, 4360, 4396, and 4398 will not be accepted for credit toward this minor. In addition to the eighteen hours listed above, the student must fulfill the six hour University requirement in Religion by taking REL 1310 and 1350.

*Students pursuing undergraduate degrees in the School of Music and the School of Nursing are required to have only 3 hours of Religion. They may take either 1310 or 1350 to fulfill this requirement.
