Jeremy Counseller, professor of law at Baylor University, will present "The Challenges of Cross-Border Litigation in a World without Economic Borders" at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Draper Academic Building on Baylor's campus.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Global Issues Lecture Series presented by Baylor's Center for International Education.

"The lecture is going to be about what remedies non-U.S. citizen victims of American products have, if any, in U.S. courts," Counseller said.

Counseller graduated from Baylor Law School with honors and earned a master's degree from the Hankamer School of Business and a bachelor's degree summa cum laude from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. He specializes in professional negligence cases. He teaches numerous courses in the law school's litigation curriculum and is also a coach of the law school's interscholastic mock trial teams.

In today's global economy, a product made in the U.S. can be sold almost anywhere, Counseller said. A harmful product has the potential to injure someone almost anywhere in the world.

Baylor's Center for International Education offers programs and services to international students.

The lecture will take place in Room 116. Draper Academic Building is located 1420 S. Seventh St.
