Dr. David Horrell, Director for Biblical Studies in the department of theology and religion at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, will present the annual lecture at the Minette and Huber Lelland Drumwright Jr. Endowed Colloquium in New Testament Studies at Baylor University.

Horrell's lecture, "Paul Among the Ecologists?: Rereading Paul in a Time of Environmental Crisis," will begin at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Paul Powell Chapel in George W. Truett Seminary on the Baylor campus.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by Baylor's department of religion and Truett Seminary.

Horrell served as the editor of the Journal for the Study of the New Testament. He is a member of the British New Testament Society, Society for Biblical Literature and the Society for New Testament Studies.

Horrell's research interests, include 1 Peter, the Bible in environmental ethics and Pauline ethics, which lead him to publish a collection on the study of the Corinthian Church, highlighting Paul's ethics.

In 2002, the Drumwright Colloquium was established to bring New Testament scholars to the Baylor campus to benefit the Baylor community.
