On November 25, at the University of Naples, Dr. Sloan presented, "Oral History and Hurricane Katrina: Shouts and Silences." An interpreter translated his speech from English to Italian for the audience. Dr. Sloan shared the panel with internationally recognized oral historian and author, Alessandro Portelli. The conference theme for the day was Il Grande Terramot Dell'Irpinia: Trent'anni Dopo.
