BECKY SHULDA joined the Institute in October 1999. Her responsibilities include managing the flow of interviews through the various stages of processing, hiring undergraduate editorial assistants and training them in transcription protocol, and maintaining a database on the substantial collection of interviews. She manages our budget, equipment, and purchasing, and her friendly voice and winsome smile is usually the first impression callers and visitors have of the Institute. She holds a BA in museum studies and history from Baylor. Becky is the originator and interviewer for "Cotton: The Fiber that Built Birome," an oral history project on documenting the history of Birome, Texas and its residents.
