Welcome Week

Welcome Week is the official beginning of your experience as a Baylor Bear! During Welcome Week you will have opportunities to connect with other incoming students, as well as with returning students who are excited to welcome you into the Baylor community.

Location: Various Locations Kick off the LLP experience at dinner with your new Baylor community.

Thursday, August 17

6:30 PM - Festival at the Fountain
Location: 5th Street and Rosenbalm Fountain
Come together in the heart of campus for a celebration featuring desserts from local Waco establishments. Families welcome!

8:00 PM - Small Group Roundup
Location: Fountain Mall
Gather on Fountain Mall to connect with your Small Group, and meet your Welcome Week Leaders!

9:00 PM - Late Night on the Plaza
Location: Traditions Plaza / SUB Bowl
Hang with your Small Group and enjoy ice-cream, delicious Common Grounds drinks, and an outdoor movie!

Rejoin your Welcome Week Small Group before heading together to Academic Convocation.

Small Group Leader

Small Group Leaders will co-facilitate a group of 18 to 24 new students and model building healthy relationships while encouraging students in their holistic development, including: pursuing academic excellence, spiritual growth, relationship building, and a healthy lifestyle. Leaders will accompany new students to planned local activities to help introduce the new students to Baylor and Waco.

Tradition Leader

Tradition Leaders provide programmatic and logistical support to Welcome Week through the training and supervision of student staff, preparation of Welcome Week materials, and assistance with staffing and management of Welcome Week events.
