Director of the Global Network and Special Projects

Brent EdwardsJoining the staff of the Baylor Network in June 2003, Brent Edwards (BM '77; MM '82) serves as the director of the Global Network and Special Projects.

The new emphasis on reaching the Baylor family worldwide is an exciting challenge for the 21st century, as the rapid development of technology enables individuals throughout the world to stay connected to Baylor and to maintain and enhance the relationships that their Baylor experience nurtured. Brent's global vision fuels the desire to reach the rapidly growing number of both international graduates and U.S. graduates who have spread the Baylor name throughout the world through industry, business and ministry. As director of the developing Global Network, Brent continues to interact with those on campus to those abroad who are shaping Baylor's Global initiatives.

In addition, Brent provides coordination for Special Projects, from time to time, that bring the Baylor family together for reasons as diverse as fun and fellowship (Diadeloso worldwide) to shared performance experiences (Alumni Choir and Singspiration) to drawing together for spiritual community and prayer (Baylor Day of Prayer, Ministry Roundtables). A Baylor School of Music graduate and a minister of music for many years, Brent has a background in moving from creative ideas on paper to coordination of volunteers to presentations that take on production status.

Brent is married to Sherry (Barfield) Edwards (BS '77), an elementary school teacher in the LaVega ISD. Their two daughters, Liesl (BSEd '07) and Krysta (BA '07), continued their Baylor family legacy, both with degrees from Baylor. They are currently pursuing further degrees, Liesl as a PhD student at the University of Kansas, and Krysta is a law student at William and Mary.
