Audition RequirementsThe audition is the most important factor in determining whether or not a student will be accepted as music major. The audition committee consists of woodwind faculty members. An accompanist is not necessary. These guidelines are intended for entering freshmen. Transfer or more advanced students should consider these suggestions as minimal expectations. Texas residents should audition on campus. Undergraduate audition requirements: Woodwind students must apply for Baylor admission and fill out the School of Music Request for Audition form before auditioning. Students should prepare selections that are contrasting in style and tempo and best demonstrate the player's abilities. Two movements from the same composition are acceptable. Suggested literature: Graduate audition requirements: A standard concerto For questions regarding audition repertoire, please contact: Flute: Dr. Francesca Arnone See the Baylor Flute Studio Website TEXT |
