Dr. GEORGIA GREEN, Professor of Music Education and Director of the Division of Music Education, holds a BM degree from Northwestern State University and BS, MME, and Ph.D degrees from Louisiana State University. She is an elementary music specialist with a special interest in children's choral music.

Dr. Green has taught previously in public and private elementary schools in Louisiana, and has held the position of Supervisor of Elementary Music Instruction at the Louisiana State University Laboratory School. She has conducted clinics and workshops in children's music in Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Florida, and Virginia.

Her research interests include children's pitch-matching abilities and partnership models for teacher education, and her work is published in the Journal of Research in Music Education and the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education. She has served on the editorial board of Update: Applications of Research in Music Education.

In 2002, Dr. Green was elected to the position of College Division Vice-President of the Texas Music Educators Association. She is very active in state and legislative issues affecting teacher education and certification. She has testified before the State Board for Educator Certification concerning teacher certification issues and has served on the committee for the development of the state teacher certification examination and the state music textbook adoption committee.

Dr. Green also holds the position of Associate Dean of the School of Music at Baylor.
