Apply & Audition

We are glad that you are interested in applying to the Baylor University School of Music. Please follow the guidelines below to complete the application and audition process:

How to apply and audition for the School of Music:

1. All prospective students who are applying for acceptance in the School of Music must also complete the University Application process concurrent with application to the School of Music.

University Application Process

Please note that the deadlines for the University process may be different than for the School of Music. All University deadlines must be adhered to.

2. All students desiring to pursue a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, or Bachelor of Arts in Music degree must audition before members of the appropriate applied music faculty for acceptance into the music program. The "Request to Audition" form serves as your application to the School of Music.

Please do not wait to hear from the university regarding your university application status before submitting the Request to Audition form to the School of Music.

2013 - 2014 AUDITION DATES

December 7, 2013 (vocal and keyboard only)
January 25, 2014 (all areas)
February 7, 2014 (voice only)
February 8, 2014 (all areas)
February 28, 2014 (vocal only)
March 1, 2014 (all areas)

3. Submit all University financial aid and scholarship applications. Do not wait until after your audition to submit these forms.

4. Submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Student Aid) which can be filled out online at www.fafsa.ed.gov/

5. If you are an international student, you must also submit a TOEFL score, a financial statement of independence, and transcripts.

Non-Majors Interested in Music

Students who major in areas outside the School of Music but want to participate in a performing ensemble need not submit the Request to Audition Form.

Students who wish to minor in music, need not submit a request for audition form. Piano and Theory Placement tests, however, will be required. Contact Georgia_Green@baylor.edu for more music minor information.
