Baylor University will welcome Addison Road, a Christian rock band comprised of four Baylor alumni, to campus at the 10 and 11 a.m. Chapel services on Wednesday, March 3, at Waco Hall.
Formerly know as The Jenny Chisolm Band, Addison Road has performed at numerous concert venues, coffee houses and college campuses. They have opened for The Elms, the David Crowder Band, Shane Barnard, The Normals, Smalltown Poets and many other widely-recognized Christian artists. Their second album, "Breaking Beautifully," was produced by Dove award-winner Barry Blair (founding member of Audio Adrenaline) and released in June 2003. "Not What You Think," the band's debut album, was released in January 2002.
The band features four Baylor alumni: Jenny Chisolm Simmons, her husband Ryan Simmons, Ryan Gregg and Travis Lawrence. In July 2003, Josh Anzaldua joined the band as the drummer.
"We love writing music and performing; we strive to be fresh and unique on stage and in our song writing. However, our real purpose is ministry. We feel called to hang out with people from our generation and let them know God has a purpose for them." Jenny Chisolm Simmons told IndieForce.com. "If all we do is put on a fun show and write cool music, we're not doing anything worthwhile. It is our prayer that God uses us to convict, change, and encourage people's hearts."
