Baylor Law Student To Speak About Tour in Iraq Sept. 4

September 3, 2008

Pete Kerr, who is in his second quarter at Baylor Law School, will speak about his recent tour of duty to Iraq at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in room 120 at the Sheila and Walter Umphrey Law Center.

Kerr entered Baylor Law School in the spring of 2007. He was able to finish his first quarter of law school before being deployed in June 2007, returning in July of this year. While in Iraq, he worked with a Combat Support Hospital (CSH) that received and treated patients in and around some of the major cities in northern Iraq. He lived in Forward Operating Base (FOB) Speicher located near the city of Tikrit. He worked in the CSH's Tactical Operations Center (TOC) monitoring satellite feeds in northern Iraq, preparing and planning for missions, and coordinating patient care for the Coalition Forces and the Iraqi citizens. He also maintained the CSH's communication equipment.

Kerr will share stories of his time in Iraq and will present a slide show of photographs he took while there. A reception will immediately follow his presentation.
