Children Can 'Build Their Own Village' June 1

Children are invited to "Build Their Own Village" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Baylor University's Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village. During the event, participants will build a model historic village out of blocks, paper, play dough and craft sticks and can watch the construction of the Mayborn Museum Complex next door.
Children who sign up for the Waco-McLennan County Library's summer reading program will be admitted free. During the day, books will be given away as door prizes.
The Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village is located on University Parks Drive behind the Baylor alumni center. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for senior citizens and $1 for children ages 5 to 15. Baylor faculty, staff and students and children ages 5 and under will be admitted free.
