Violist Kathryn Steely To Present Faculty Recital At Baylor

Kathryn Steely, assistant professor of viola at Baylor University, will perform a faculty recital, "Duos with Viola," at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in Roxy Grove Hall.
The program will open with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Duo No. 2 in B-flat major for Violin and Viola, K. 424. Steely will be joined by assistant professor of violin Eka Gogichashvili.
Gordon Jacob's Miniature Suite for B-flat clarinet and viola will follow. Steely and professor of clarinet Richard Shanley will perform.
John Tartaglia's Fantasia on Themes of Marin Marais is scored for viola and double bass. For this piece, Steely will be joined by associate professor of double bass and conducting J. Christopher Buddo.
Following intermission, Steely and Elvia Puccinelli, assistant professor of piano and director of accompanying, will present Ernest Bloch's Suite for Viola and Piano.
Steely holds a bachelor's degree from Bethel College, a master's degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a doctorate from Northwestern University.
