Several Campus Streets Closed for Construction

June 8, 2000

The Baylor Department of Public Safety reports that several campus streets will be closed for parts of June for construction.
Beginning Monday, June 12, construction will take place on Fifth Street from Dutton Avenue to M.P. Daniel Esplanade at the Bill Daniel Student Center (blue area). Fifth Street will not be closed, but traffic will be slowed and restricted to one lane. Construction on Fifth Street should be completed by June 19.
M.P. Daniel Esplanade will be closed near Neill Morris Hall at the corner of Seventh Street (green area) from June 12-19, 2000, as workers level the intersection to alleviate a dip in the road.
Though the intersection will be partially blocked, traffic should be able to pass the intersection heading from Eighth Street down M.P. Daniel Esplanade to Pat Neff Hall on Seventh Street.
Seventh Street will be closed from the corner of M.P. Daniel Esplanade to Dutton Avenue (red area), in front of Kokernot Hall and the former Health Center. This stretch of Seventh Street will be closed for at least two weeks, from June 12-26.
The parking lot adjacent to the former Health Center will be unavailable during the two week construction period. Other parking lots around the construction areas should remain open, including visitor parking behind the Bill Daniel Student Center, the lot between to Kokernot Hall and Waco Creek, and the faculty/staff lot next to Pat Neff Hall.
Questions about the construction process should be address to the Baylor Department of Public Safety, at (254) 710-2222.
