Fasttrac Program Accepting Applications For Fall 2000

Designed for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs, the FastTrac Program for business entrepreneurs is set to begin another fall session during the first week of September.
Holding classes in Waco since 1986, FastTrac is a national program geared toward aspiring and current entrepreneurs. The program is co-sponsored by Baylor University's John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship, the City of Waco and the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with McLennan Community College, Small Business Development Center/Business Resource Center, Texas State Technical College, Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Heart of Texas Black Chamber of Commerce.
FastTrac NewVenture, recommended for beginning entrepreneurs or those with an idea for a business, will begin Sept. 5 for nine weeks. FastTrac Planning, for existing entrepreneurs or those who have owned a business for more than two years, will begin Sept. 5 for 11 weeks. Classes are held each Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Baylor's Hankamer School of Business.
Malinda Green, administrative assistant at Baylor's Baugh Center, said the deadline for the fall class is Aug. 18. Describing FastTrac as the "ultimate entrepreneurial training program," she said, "We would encourage interested persons to complete an application and return it as soon as possible, since enrollment will be limited."
Allan Morris, president of Extraco Bank, will be the instructor for FastTrac Planning, and David Hoffman, owner of Thera-Med Inc., will be the instructor for FastTrac NewVenture. The FastTrac NewVenture fee is $350 and FastTrac Planning is $700. Fee covers materials and textbooks. Tuition remission is available, based on need.
