Woodwind Chamber Music Faculty To Present Concert Oct. 24

Four members of the Baylor University music faculty will present "An Evening of Woodwind Chamber Music" at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in Roxy Grove Hall.
Performing will be Helen Ann Shanley, associate professor of flute; Doris DeLoach, professor of oboe; Richard Shanley, professor of clarinet; and Kenton Moore, assistant professor of bassoon.
The concert will open with American composer Alvin Etler's Suite for Flute, Oboe and Clarinet. Etler, who was himself an oboist, wrote this piece in 1960.
Next, the musicians will play Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in G major for Flute, Oboe and Bassoon, followed by Dutch composer Willem Pijper's Trio for Flute, Clarinet and Bassoon.
The woodwind group also will perform the Suite for Woodwind Trio by Polish composer Alexandre Tansman, the Aubade for Flute, Oboe, and Clarinet by French composer Paul de Wailly and "Four Old Tunes" by English composer Gordon Jacob.
