Golden Wave Alumni Band to Perform "Salute to Waco"

September 8, 1999

AT BAYLOR HOME OPENER
More than 100 members of the 1999 Baylor University Golden Wave Alumni Band representing almost every decade will perform at Baylor's first home game Sept. 11 against the University of Las Vegas at Nevada. The band's 14th annual performance will include a salute to Waco as the city celebrates its 150th Anniversary.
Honorary directors have been chosen each year since the first Alumni Band performed in 1986. This year's directors are former head football coach Grant Teaff and his wife, Donell. The Teaffs will receive a plaque from Jeffrey Grogan, the director of the Golden Wave Band, Michael Haithcock, director of University Bands, and Bob Powers, president of the Alumni Band.
