Print Exhibition Opens at the University Art Gallery Aug. 25

August 24, 1999

The University of Dallas Print Exhibition, which features works by artists from throughout the United States, opens Wednesday at the University Art Gallery in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center on the Baylor University campus. The exhibit will run through Sept. 22.
The 45 pieces in the exhibit represent the different approaches to print making, from lithography and etching to woodcuts and screen printing. "This is a very eclectic show and absolutely gorgeous," said Paul McCoy, associate professor of art at Baylor. "It ranges from highly representational work to very surreal pieces to very abstracted imagery. Whoever walks in the gallery will be both pleased and challenged by the works. It will be quite an experience."
Sponsored by the University of Dallas for the last 15 years, all arts works featured in the exhibit are selected and framed by art students from that university. The exhibition tours throughout Texas.
The University Art Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and during matinee and evening performances of Baylor Theater. There is no admission charge.
