Carillonneurs Perform Christmas Recital Dec. 6

Three students of Baylor University Carillonneur Herbert Colvin will present a Christmas recital at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, on the McLane Carillon in the tower of Baylor's Pat Neff Hall.
Grant Hackethorn, senior instrumental music major from Waco, will open the program with "Changes for Carillon" by Gary White, followed by the Albert Gerken's arrangement of the traditional "Pat-a-Pan."
Joe Gastler, a sophomore church music major from Houston, will play Gerken's "Pastel in Bronze," followed by the John Knox settings of three carols, "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming," "Silent Night" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."
Evelyn Lamb, a senior University Scholar from Dallas, will bring the program to a close with "Andante No. 79" by Joannes De Gruijtters, followed by Gerken's arrangement of "O Come, All Ye Faithful" and "Carol of the Bells."
Monday's recital is free and open to the public. Listeners are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets, and printed programs will be distributed on Founders Mall in front of Pat Neff Hall. For more information, call the Baylor School of Music at (254) 710-3991.
