indent pictureBruce Berg, associate professor of violin at Baylor University, will present a recital of the "Three Partitas for Solo Violin" by Johann Sebastian Bach at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, in the Armstrong Browning Library.

indent pictureThese towering partitas, written by Bach at Cöthen, Germany, in 1720, are considered to be among the finest pieces ever composed for unaccompanied violin. They are filled with technical challenges that attempt to produce two, three, or even four voices-simultaneously-on a single instrument.
