Baylor Students to Present 'After Dark' Oct. 3

September 26, 1997

The Department of Student Activities of Baylor University will present "After Dark," an auditioned talent show, at 7 and 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in Waco Hall as part of the annual Parents Weekend.
According to Daniel Eady, director of "After Dark" and coordinator of special performances, the show will have a new look this year.
"It's going to be a lot like MTV Unplugged, only Baylor style," Eady said.
Eady is taking a more casual approach to the variety show than in past years by spotlighting the humor in students' talents and using some new staging effects available in Waco Hall. The featured acts include a five piece jazz band, quartets, soloists, dramatic duets and instrumentalists.
Baylor students Jonathan Jeck, a senior from Round Rock, and Jayleen Rissing, a senior from Irving, will host the show.
Between the first and second act of the show, the Alumni Association will honor the Bolger family with the "First Family of Baylor" award, and the Parents League will recognize Mike and Pam Worley of Roswell, N.M., as the "Baylor 1997 Parents of the Year."
Tickets for "After Dark" are $10 and are available at the ticket office in the Bill Daniel Student Center. Baylor student tickets are $8 each.
