Baylor Alumni Association to Host Ring Ceremony March 21

March 19, 1997

The Baylor University Alumni Association will host the fourth Official Ring Presentation from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, March 21, in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
The university adopted the single official ring concept in 1995 as the newest of the Baylor traditions. Approximately 100 seniors participating in the ceremony will receive their ring from Baylor President Robert B. Sloan Jr.
President Sloan will make a brief presentation and Robert Reid, professor emeritus of history and Master Teacher at Baylor, will give a descriptive presentation of the 13 historical symbols featured on the Baylor ring.
Jeff Kilgore, assistant director for marketing and development for the Alumni Association, said the ring continues Baylor's heritage of strong traditions.
"The Baylor ring unites our past with our present and our future," Kilgore said.
