Economic Forecast Conference Scheduled for Oct. 3

WACO, Texas - The 1997 Economic Forecast Conference sponsored by Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business and Waco Chamber of Commerce will be held at the Waco Convention Center on Thursday, Oct. 3.
The 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. program will feature seven speakers who will address economic strategies for the coming year. They include Dr. John L. Pisciotta, associate professor of economics, who will discuss the economic policies of President Bill Clinton and Republican presidential candidate Bob Dole; Dr. Thomas M. Kelly, professor of economics and director of Baylor's Center for Economic Analysis, who will give the Central Texas forecast; and Dr. Steven L. Green, associate professor of economics, who will focus on the national and Texas forecast.
A survey of consumer intentions will be presented by Waco Dodge executive Sam Nay, and the Central Texas business leaders' survey will be given by Rodney Kroll, president of Texas National Bank of Waco.
Also, Dr. William R. Reichenstein, the Pat and Thomas R. Powers Professor of Investment Management, will discuss "Investment Opportunities for 1997." Wes Bailey, chairman of the Waco Chamber of Commerce board of directors, also will be among the program participants.
