Baylor Board Reaffirms University's Mission

WACO, Texas - Baylor University's Board of Regents today issued the following statement following a unanimous vote:
"RESOLVED that the Board of Regents of Baylor University hereby reaffirm Baylor University's mission to 'educate men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within a caring community;' and that the Board of Regents collectively voice our support of President Robert B. Sloan Jr. and our outstanding faculty and staff as they work together to carry out Baylor's distinctive mission." "This statement verbalizes what the entire Board of Regents has always felt about Baylor University," said Randall H. Fields, Board chairman. "It's our way of restating the mission of the University and to support the people who are charged with that mission-the president, the faculty, the students, the staff, the parents and the alumni."
