WACO, TEXAS - A NEWS CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A.M. THURSDAY, JUNE 6, ON THE STEPS OF PAT NEFF HALL AT BAYLOR UNIVERSITY.

BAYLOR IS CO-SPONSORING AN ENTRY IN THE COREL GREAT RACE, A 4,000-MILE RACE FEATURING VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE CARS WHICH WILL COVER 13 STATES AND ONE CANADIAN PROVINCE. THE RACE BEGINS JUNE 16 IN TACOMA, WASH.

THE CAR BAYLOR IS CO-SPONSORING IS A 1938 PACKARD LIMOUSINE OWNED BY WACOAN TIMOTHY FLYNN, WHO IS PRESIDENT OF ISI, A WACO-BASED SATELLITE TECHNOLOGY COMPANY. FLYNN, WHO OWNS THE CAR, WILL DRIVE IT DURING THE GREAT RACE. THE CAR WILL BE ON DISPLAY THURSDAY AND FLYNN WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEWS.

THE GREAT RACE IS NOW IN ITS 14TH YEAR AND WINNERS WILL BE AWARDED $250,000 IN PRIZE MONEY. BAYLOR IS THE FIRST UNIVERSITY EVER TO SPONSOR AN ENTRY IN THE RACE.
