Chris Hansen, M.F.A.
An expert in the film industry, screenwriting and the filmmaking process, Baylor’s Chris Hansen serves as associate professor and chair of the Department of Film and Digital Media. Hansen’s study of the film industry focuses on the potential future of narrative storytelling in film through the evolution of technology.
Hansen has won awards for writing, producing and directing four feature independent films, "The Proper Care and Feeding of an American Messiah," "Endings," "Where We Started" and "Blur Circle." His completed films are available on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, DVD and Blu-Ray. His films have been screened at festivals throughout the United States and Canada and have been released theatrically in Los Angeles and New York. He has contributed to edited collections such as "Halos and Avatars: Playing Video Games with God," "Too Bold for the Box Office: The Mockumentary from Big Screen to Small" and "Bigger on the Inside: Christianity and Doctor Who." His commentary has been featured on CNBC, Christian Science Monitor and The Atlantic.
Hansen received a B.A. in English from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, an M.A. in communication (film directing and editing) from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and an M.F.A. in script and screenwriting, also from Regent.
