Rinn Cloud is the Mary Gibbs Jones Endowed Chair in Textile Science and an associate professor in the department of family and consumer sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences. She researches the areas of protective clothing development and performance; clothing comfort and its role in protection compliance; task enhancement or interference by clothing; and functional product development and wear testing. Cloud also is involved with research involving the NX16 body scanner at Baylor, which is a high-tech alternative to a traditional clothing fitting room. She earned a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University, a master's degree from Purdue University and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
