Have you ever wondered what keeps your body upright and gives it shape? You will learn this and much more when you experience Bones: An Exhibit Inside You™, an exciting new traveling exhibit from the Children's Museum of Indianapolis that will be at the Mayborn Museum Complex from October 27, 2007 through February 17, 2008.

Bones helps create an awareness of the fundamentals of bone biology. Through a variety of exciting hands-on activities, visitors will find out how modern technology provides us with ways to keep our bones healthy and how bones have found their way into the art, music and literature of people around the world.

The Bones Adventure begins as visitors move through an entrance where images of humans transform into skeletons. This introduction gives a personal perspective; after all, we all have bones! The exhibit is intended to help both children and adults understand the need to have healthy bones and teaches ways to accomplish that goal.

Visitors are invited to participate in four activity areas: HOME, FITNESS CENTER, MEDICAL CENTER and ZOO. Each area looks at a different aspect of bones and has its own important lessons for guest to discover. In addition to increases our awareness of these different aspects of bones, this exciting exhibit also provides valuable information about careers in science. The interactivity and novelty of this exhibit will interest and entertain participants of all ages.

"This exhibit will provide our visitors with great information in a very interactive and entertaining manner" says museum director Dr. Ellie Caston. "Bones: An Exhibit Inside You" will be our second traveling exhibit in 2007. Offering two exhibits in one year is a big step for the museum but one that provides our audience with even more reasons to visit again and again.

Bones: An Exhibit Inside You™ is presented nationally by Eli Lilly and Company and supported in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, National Center for Research Resources.

The Mayborn Museum Complex is located on the Baylor University campus at 1300 S. University Parks Dr. in Waco, Texas. The 143,000-square-foot facility houses natural history galleries, 16 themed discovery rooms and a 13-acre historic village for visitors of all ages to engage, explore, and enjoy! Admission to the museum and the Bones exhibit will be $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children. Museum members are admitted free.
