JUDGE BARROW SEEKS REELECTION

Judge Charles W. Barrow of San Antonio is running for reelection to a full term on the Texas Supreme Court.

23 YEARS JUDICIAL EXPERIENCE

Nearly 5 years service on the Supreme Court of Texas.
15 years service on the 4th Court of Civil Appeals.
10 years as Chief Justice of that Court.
Prior to the appellate court, he was Judge of the 45th District Court.

A RECORD OF JUDICIAL EXCELLENCE

Author of more than 600 opinions.
Appointed as charter member of the Judicial Qualifications Commission by the Texas Supreme Court.
Co-editor of the Benchbook for Texas Trial Judges.
Served on the Committee on the Pattern Jury Charges of the State Bar of Texas.
Served many years on the Committee on Administration of the Justice of the State Bar.

TEXAS JUDGES ELECT HIM CHAIRMAN

Fellow judges elected him chairman of the Judicial Section in 1972.
Serves now on the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Legal Section.

Licensed to practice law in Texas and before the United States Supreme Court.
Practiced law in San Antonio 13 years before appointment to the District Court.
"Baylor Lawyer of the Year;" Baylor University accorded him this honor in 1972.
"Distinguished Jurist" Gavel Award, presented by St. Mary's University School of Law in 1978.
"Greenhill Judicial Award," Texas Municipal Courts Association, 1979.
"Distinguished Alumnus Award," Baylor University, 1982.

DECORATED NAVAL OFFICER

Served as a Navy Line Officer in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters, in World War II and the Korean War.
Recipient of seven battle stars.
Recently retired from the Naval Reserve as a Captain.

AN ACTIVE CITIZEN

Past President of the Quarterback Club.
Active Methodist Layman.
Trustee, Scottish Rite Crippled Children's Hospital, Dallas, Texas.

FAMILY MAN

Born, 1921 in Poteet, Texas. Son of the late Judge and Mrs. H. D. Barrow.
Educated in the public schools of Atascosa County. LLB, 1943, Baylor Law School.
Married in 1943 to Sugie Williams; they have 4 sons, 2 daughters-in-law and 3 grandsons.
