Papers of Charles W. Barrow




The Papers of Charles W. Barrow span the years 1977-1984, and cover Barrow's tenure on the Texas Supreme Court. The papers comprise 2.5 linear feet of material and are arranged in five series include biographical materials, campaign materials, photographs, judicial yearbooks, and conference materials.

The papers of Judge Charles Barrow were deposited in the Baylor Collections of Political Materials in two installments in October, 1991. Items included eight notebooks containing conference memorandum sent to other justices concerning Applications for Writ of Error, two judicial yearbooks, and a folder of biographical/campaign materials. In addition, a photograph of former Vice President John Nance Garner posing with several other men on the porch of his home in Uvalde was deposited inthe Texas Collection. The Gift Conveyace to Baylor University was signed on 4 October, 1991.

A preliminary inventory was made in October, 1991 by Ben Rogers, Collections Manager. A detailed listing was made in March 1995 by Ben Rogers. The Finding Aid was revised in October 1998 by Nancy Arreola. The EAD Finding Aid was created by Benna Ball, UTA Graduate Student, in October 2000.
