Feb. 7, 2011

The Student Government Association passed a resolution on January 18, 2011, praising the recent modernization and refurbishment of the central libraries.

The resolution passed at the 58th Legislative Session of the Baylor University Student Senate, thanking Dean Pattie Orr and the staff of Information Technology Services and University Libraries for their hard work to provide the best technology and space in the libraries.

Changes in the library include new computers, digital scanners, more accessible handicapped access, enhancements to the wireless network, and the addition of resources to aid in sustainability such as the new double-sided printing and KIC scanners.

The ongoing modernization of the central libraries has been an initiative since 2007. Concerning the acknowledgment of the Garden Level Study Commons, Dean of Libraries Pattie Orr said, "I have been so pleased with the way the renovations on the garden level of Moody Memorial Library have been received by students. The recognition by the Student Government Association affirms the vision and dedicated work that went into the changes we made and the direction we continue to move in serving students through the Baylor University Libraries."
