Those who have been anywhere near the Garden Level of Moody Library lately may have noticed that some changes are taking place. This summer, workers are renovating a portion of the Garden Level that will house the new Riley Digitization Suite. This area will provide work space for staff and students to digitize and process materials and provide seven new offices for Electronic Library staff. In addition, there will be a state-of the-art conference room to provide space for faculty and library staff during the day and improved high-tech collaboration space for students to use in the evenings.
The renovation plans also include a new open study area consisting of more than 5,000 square feet. During the fall and spring semesters, the Garden-Level will be open 24 hours, so this space will greatly improve student accommodations for those late night study sessions and group-project meetings.
The project leaders hope to have the study area available for student use by the beginning of the fall semester or shortly thereafter. The Riley Digitization Suite and the new conference/collaboration room should be completed by Oct. 1. Visit the Library Renovations blog for updates on this project.
