The timing of this change is not ideal, coming right before finals, but software system changes at OCLC (the central organization through which most of the ILL requests are routed) necessitate a move to a new system before May 1, 2005. This transition will be comprehensive and will affect all aspects of interlibrary services at Baylor from the customer interface used to place requests to the electronic delivery page where photo-duplicated items may be viewed online.
The staff in Baylor Interlibrary Services Office as well as other personnel from various units throughout the Libraries and Information Technology Services are working very hard to make the transition to OsoFast as simple and smooth as possible.
OsoFast is Baylor's customized implementation of the ILLiad suite developed by Atlas Systems (VA) and licensed through OCLC. If you would like a preview of the ILLiad system, please visit the OCLC website at - Ken Carriveau, Interlibrary Services
