Baylor Libraries Welcome Prospective Students

Feb. 10, 2004

The Baylor Libraries hosted a welcome and refreshment table in the Allbritton Foyer of Moody Memorial Library during Baylor's Winter Premiere on Saturday, Jan. 31.

Baylor hosts three premiere events (fall, winter, and spring) as a recruiting tool for perspective students and their families. During this event, the students and their families are provided a general overview of student life at Baylor and given an opportunity to visit faculty from academic departments, pose questions to a panel of representatives from campus areas, tour the campus and visit facilities on campus such as the residence halls, Student Life Center and the libraries. Approximately 1,200 attended the 2004 Winter Premiere - the largest group ever. Some 120 visitors came through the library foyer, where drinks and homemade cookies were provided. Library staff members visited with many interested students and parents, handed out informational materials and conducted personalized tours through the libraries. The tours emphasized the personal contact that's an integral part of Baylor's environment. The Spring Premiere is scheduled for April 24.
