Existing Rights Statement

Transcribe the rights statement of the resource.   A rights statement can cover intellectual property, copyright, access, and any other property rights.  It is highly recommended to have this element with each digital resource.

Creating Rights Statement

If there is no rights statement supplied with the resource, check with your supervisor to see if a rights statement needs to be included.  If one needs to be included, your supervisor will need to supply you with a rights statement to put with the resource.

  • NEVER create a rights statement for a resource that is the responsibility of your supervisor who is familiar with the rights status of the resource.

Other Rights Statement

If there is other rights information about a resource make a note of it.
