Blackboard Collaborate is a web conferencing system that extends the collaboration tools within our Blackboard system to allow for synchronous, web-based, virtual classroom environments. Web conferencing with Collaborate gives you the functionality you need for a 21st century teaching and learning environment, such as two-way audio, multi-point video, interactive whiteboard, application and desktop sharing, rich media, breakout rooms, and session recording.
Within Blackboard courses, it can be used for study sessions, tutorials, office hours, group projects, guest lectures, and even full class sessions. Beyond the classroom, Collaborate can be used by faculty and staff to conduct meetings, give presentations, or host online webinars.
Collaborate Web Conferencing training is held several times throughout the year. You can register online through the Training and Development site or schedule a one-on-one Desktop Coaching session by contacting the ITS Help Desk via email,
or by phone at (254)710-HELP.
