A Day in the Life of Jennifer Salim
BS in Communication Studies and Minor in Business from Texas Christian University
| Starting Quarter:
Fun (unrelated to law): Ride my horse, run, and travel to see my boyfriend, friends, and family who are scattered all over the place.
More important than sleep: Squeezing in a run around campus.
Law School Competitions: Jennifer has represented Baylor in the following interscholastic competitions: Texas Administrative Law Moot Court Competition (Tournament champion and reserve best brief and reserve best speaker); National Products Liability Moot Court Competition (semi-finalist); American Bar Association Labor Law Mock Trial Competition (Regional's Reserve Champion); American Association for Justice National Trial Advocacy Competition (Regional's Reserve Champion); Tournament of Champions National Mock Trial Competition.
Ultimate Career Goal: "To have colleagues whom I respect look at me and say, 'Now that is a trial attorney.'"
More important than sleep? Running every day during finals.
Favorite things about Waco: "Most people probably wouldn't be as excited about this as I am, but Waco has a fabulous rodeo facility and with the western scene comes great Texas Country music artists. I also love being 100 miles from Austin, 88 miles from Dallas, and 80 miles from Fort Worth. But who is counting?!"
Fave thing about Baylor Law: MY CLASSMATES. "They are the most clever, driven and motivated people I've ever had the privilege of working, playing and competing with."
Any Surprises: Jennifer rose to the challenge of Baylor Law. "I have surprised myself at Baylor Law. Just when you think you can't push, learn or grow any more, the professors remind you otherwise."
