Superintendent Finalist Focuses On Task AheadFeb. 17, 2011
Next week, Bonny Cain will be eligible to transition from being the candidate of choice to being hired by the board officially as Waco ISD's next superintendent. Assuming that goes forward, she'll be taking over a district with a number of issues that need to be addressed. She'll take the time to listen to the district before announcing too many plans. But she does know that she'll focus right away on eliminating distractions that keep teachers from teaching, much like her "Just One Thing" program in Pearland.
All of our prior stories on the recommendation of Dr. Cain and prior segments of this interview can be found online at kwbu.org. And we'll continue to cover issues faced by students and educators in Central Texas regularly here on Waco NPR. For KWBU News, I'm Derek Smith.
