Last week access to BearSpace was limited due to a recently exposed vulnerability in the components that support the service. Security patches supplied by the vendor were applied on Monday, August 5, 2013, and BearSpace was thoroughly tested to ensure that the recently discovered exploit was no longer viable. BearSpace is once again available outside of the Baylor network, enabling web sites hosted on the system and file shares to function normally.
Because BearSpace was isolated from the Internet, it may take some time for Domain Name Service (DNS) servers across the Internet to recognize BearSpace. If you experience difficulty accessing BearSpace, please be patient as the Internet propagates the address to allow you to access BearSpace remotely once again.
